O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
In answer to our my sadness over the no tree situation, we got this fabulous present from Ryan’s family a couple days before Christmas.
And quickly set it up so we could finally have some type of Christmas decoration in our house. And yes, the backdrop of the pictures show just how messy my house is.
Not going to lie. There was a lot of “that’s what he / she said”...
insomnia + no computer with internet (I hate you Cablevision, always and forever) = using the ipad to post a bunch of random posts that have been sitting in my drafts folder forever
Also, right around now I’m really cursing my decision to have Cablevision stop by in 4 hours to fix the internet situation. So much for sleeping in during my vacation.

Woohoo... that "Remember" ring is as good as mine.
In an all too Julia Allisonesque-Mac-Air-Conversation that made me debate with myself about posting it. But oh well, time to embrace the superficial.
Me: So how's that remember ring purchase coming along?
R: (Ignore)
Me: You know... for my past, present, and future.
R: What past?
Me: What past?! Our first date was in 2002. It's almost 2011. That's a pretty good past in my book.
R: Okay, when we got married, how long were you envisioning us being married for?
Me: Hmm... well... I guess if I have to pick a number of when to kick the bucket I'll go with around 95. So that would be 71 years of marriage.
R: So a "remember" ring woud be when the past is a lot more along than it currently is.
(Silence)
R: Why are you quiet?
Me: I'm calculating. 60.
R: What?
Me: 60 years old. By your logic - halfway through our marriage I'll be 60. Can I get my remember ring then?
R: Yes. If you actually remember this conversation when you are 60, I will get you the remember ring.
Me: You know me better than that.. OF COURSE, I'll remember. I'll be waiting...

Elf!!!! I was so excited about this ever since I first heard (on tumblr, where else?) that it was coming to Broadway for Christmas this year, so I was sadly disappointed that it was just too cheesy for me. Me! The person that thinks a story about eternal love between a 17-year-old and a sparkly vampire is epic and just thinking about the Christmas Shoes or Nestor-the-long-eared-donkey makes me...

Totto Ramen
Spending a morning in blustery AC, an afternoon on the train and an evening on Broadway I figured the perfect thing would be a dinner of noodles. And one of the spots I kept hearing a lot about was Totto Ramen, a sixteen seater on 52nd Street. No reservations like most (all?) noodle places meant we’d probably be in for a long wait. But we were going on Sunday, at 5:30, in the rain. There...

Red square, bad pictures, and off topic tangents
I like to dress up. It was actually on the pro versus con list I made when deciding where to live after college (e.g Connecticut or Hawaii). I mean, I walk into the malls in Honolulu and I’m pretty much the only one in a sundress and high heels. And when people don’t dress up to places that are nice I make fun of them in my head. Like when sister’s ex-boyfriend wore a wife beater...

AC bound
Last weekend Two weekends ago (oops these posts have been sitting in my draft folder for way too long) we headed out to Atlantic City a la the AC Express.
Originally I had planned it as a drunken debauchery fest (as well as my ticket to winning millions, retiring before 30, and living a life of lazy luxury) but as the weekend arrived I was decidedly looking forward to a weekend of R&R...
My boss asked me if I saw (the) eclipse last...
I was halfway through answering him when I realized that no, he was not in fact talking about the latest Twilight movie.
Oops.
Metro-north: at least it's rarely boring
Let me set the scene for ya. An empty train car is slowly filling with passengers for the commute home. Yours truly has scored one of the most coveted seats on a peak hour New Haven bound train - the single seater. There’s only about 4 - 8 on any given train. This is a REALLY big deal. But i digress. I’m slightly annoyed by these dweeby boys in front of me who are arguing about some...

Today I was included on an email from an Australian counterpart. The email was apparently rude. I say apparently because I totally didn’t pick up on that until a second email was sent apologizing for the first one. I suspect my obliviousness was because he used terms like mate and cheers and I read the email to myself with an Australian accent. I actually smiled when I read that first...

My poor neglected blog
Just once I would like to experience the December I’ve been promised.
The December that includes no stress, decent work hours, and did I mention no stress?
Someday this’ll happen. I know it.

Thoughts on this week's Top Chef
- Tom is super sexy.
- I was way more excited about Tom’s first appearance than seeing Jo Jonas.
- Why was Jo Jonas a judge? How is he relevant to the world of food?
- Tyrannosaurus Rex did not eat herbs and grain. Why was this so hard to comprehend?
- When I was little, my mom took me on an overnight stay to the local museum where we slept with the dinosaurs. It was awesome.

Me: I've made the executive decision that we should go somewhere.
R: Okay. Where are we going?
Me: I've come up with 3 ideas.
R: Do they all start with F and end in A?
Me: No! Well, only 2 of them do. And none of them involve the word Disney.
R: Really? I'm shocked.
Me: Well, one might involve the words, "Wizarding World of Harry Potter."
R: And there it is.

SQUEALLLLLL. This is truly the sound I made on Monday night when I got my tumblr buddy package filled with things relating to my FAVORITE HOLIDAY (yes, that deserves caps). Thank you thank you thank you. From the picture frame and notecards to the decked out clothes pins, advent calendar (that is totally being enjoyed) and kleenex (which maybe TMI but is also really being enjoyed much to the...

Since it’s already December I figured I’d pass on posting anything about Thanksgiving, but that was before I remembered there was a picture of me and my Sweater Buddy on camera. Lucky was less than pleased to pose with me.
I’m more of a cat-person than a dog-person but I always get jealous of how dog owners travel with their pets, take them out to eat, and have all their dogs...
